The local resident, who will not be named publicly, held the only division one winning entry in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 4387 on May 1.
She pocketed the division one prize of $1 million.
When an official from The Lott reached out to the winning woman Thursday morning, she was wide awake but stunned at her good fortune.
“I’m a bit dazed by it all,” she laughed.
“It was late last night, and my husband was already in bed. I was watching TV and thought I’d check my ticket.
“Normally I get division six or something like that.
“Then I saw it and thought, ‘That can’t be right’.
“I went out of the app and then back in again and it was still there. I went and woke my husband up. I had to show him. He just lay there in shock.”
The winner said the surprise kept her awake until at least 1am, but as soon as she opened her eyes on Thursday she was checking the ticket again “just to make sure it was real”.
She said she came close to missing out altogether, only realising on Wednesday evening she had forgotten to buy her regular ticket.
“I thought it was too late and had missed the draw. But then someone said, ‘No, you’ve still got time’.
“So, minutes before the draw’s close, I quickly logged in and thought, ‘oh, 18 games will do’.
“I sometimes forget to put my ticket on. I’m glad I still had time as this was the end result!
“I’m still sitting here in disbelief wondering if it is real. It’s going to help a heap.
“I’m going to pay off the mortgage – that’s the first thing. That will take a lot of pressure off. I also want to help set the kids up for the future too.
“I’ve won a million dollars! It’s surreal”.
The winning woman’s winning 18-game QuickPick entry was purchased via The Lott app.
The winning numbers in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 4387 on Wednesday were 7, 10, 34, 42, 36 and 16, while the supplementary numbers were 17 and 11.
