It was a joyous occasion, as women and children walked to show their support and appreciation for the wonderful midwives and healthcare professionals within the community.
GV Health chief executive Matt Sharp said it was important to recognise the vital role that midwives played in supporting mothers and newborns.
“It’s really nice to see everyone come together to celebrate an important day,” he said.
“These days where we do pause to reflect and think about the contribution that health professionals make to our community in a really meaningful way are so important.”
He acknowledged that midwives cared deeply about their work.
“It makes a real difference, and we’re really grateful for that,” he said.
