That includes offering traineeships to those interested in pursuing a career in disability support.
“I’m excited to employ staff who would undertake their qualification whilst working in a variety of different programs at Goulburn Options,” Ms Burgess said.
“Our wide range of services and locations gives our trainees an enormous variety of opportunity to learn and develop.”
Trainees with the organisation come out of the program with a Certificate IV in Disability, while gaining industry experience with disability care.
Among the opportunities available to trainees is the chance work with NDIS participants to develop customer services skills such as point of sale transactions, money handling and barista skills.
Trainees also work with participants at the GO Again Op shop, GO Eats, the popular Zoom cooking program, new drama and dance programs, outdoor recreation and swimming.
“I have always been an advocate for traineeships and opportunities for staff to learn on the job whilst they complete a qualification,” Ms Burgess said.
“Knowing the importance of learning skills in the workplace, I am particularly excited about the experience we can provide potential candidates at Goulburn Options.”
The organisation has recently undergone large service expansions across Mitchell Shire.
This year, renovations on the Supported Independent Living units in O’Sullivan St are scheduled to be completed, the new Station St office will open and the creative arts program will be expanded.
To give potential trainees a taste of the program, those interested are invited to attend an information session at 28 High St, Seymour, on Monday, February 7, from 6pm.
