The Pet Food Shop will host an adoption day on Saturday, November 30 from 10am to 2pm.
GVPAR dog foster carer co-ordinator and vice-president Steph Sparrow highlighted two of the many dogs available.
“Lenora is an 18-month-old German shepherd cross kelpie, who is looking for a forever home,” Ms Sparrow said.
“She’s exceptionally well trained and has lots of love to give.
“She’s kid- and dog-friendly and loved by the staff at Nathalia Boarding Kennels.”
The other dog she highlighted was Narla, a mix of three breeds: Staffy, Jack Russell and whippet.
“Narla is a one-year-old pocket rocket,” she said.
Narla has been in Ms Sparrow’s care for a while now.
“She loves humans, wants to be with her humans all the time, will cuddle all day if she can,” she said.
“Narla’s looking for a best friend.”
If attendees find a match, there is a bit of a process; however, it can get started on the day.
“If people come, and they like a dog, there’s an online application form they need to fill out, and then they will make a time with us for a formal meet and greet in their home,” Ms Sparrow said.
If you already have a furry member of the family, you are welcome to bring them along to the day.
The rescue is on the hunt for new carers to join the team, and Ms Sparrow encouraged anyone interested to attend Saturday’s event.
“GVPAR is looking for dog foster carers; we are a small rescue, but we think that we have a lot to offer,” she said.
“Please reach out via our website if you’re interested in fostering; we have dogs of all ages and sizes.”
The Pet Food Shop is at 41 Archer St, Shepparton.
