Gardens of all types will be on display, including native Australian parks, succulents and spring-like gardens, with the designers of the gardens on hand to give visitors and residents advice.
Secretary of the Tocumwal Optimists Marg Dixon encouraged the community and visitors to come together and enjoy the gardens on display.
“It is an opportunity for locals and the wider community, including the Riverina and Shepparton, to see what gardens are showcasing to the local community,” Mrs Dixon said.
She said the open gardens event was also an opportunity for the optimists to fundraise for a local or national cause.
“Tocumwal has not had fundraisers for many years, and we were looking for different fundraisers to help causes which we have done in the past, such as the Lismore floods and or raising funds for local schools,” she said.
The Tocumwal Open Gardens will run from 10am to 4pm at the Tocumwal Lions Care Centre on Adams St.
The entry fee is $20 cash at the door, with the Optimists fundraising to support a needy cause of their choice.
