Seymour has enthusiastically embraced the pupcakes, with a dozen being sold on the first day.
Ferguson Plarre is the major sponsor for the RSPCA’s annual Cupcake Day fundraiser. The pupcake program has been running for three years.
Seymour store owner Greg Maher said it was a worthy cause and something the business was happy to be associated with.
RSPCA Victoria chief executive officer Liz Walker said community support was essential to the work the RSPCA did.
“Ninety per cent of our work is funded by the community,” Dr Walker said.
“Cupcake Day proceeds are vital for helping us care for our shelter animals, investigate reports of cruelty and fund community education and outreach programs to improve animal welfare.”
