The event will include presentations from Smart Energy Lab, SolarQuip and Solaris general director Glen Morris and Going Green Solutions director Lucinda Flynn on energy efficient and sustainable communities.
Mr Morris has road-tested much of Australia’s renewable hardware and has used renewable technology for more than 50 years.
Ms Flynn has had an extensive career in sustainability and will talk about how residents can make their homes more energy-efficient and sustainable, regardless of their budget.
President of 2030Yea Elaine Furniss was thrilled to welcome the two speakers.
“Both speakers have worked with 2030Yea before and we know they will provide information based on practical experience,” she said.
“The 2030Yea committee has been training in energy efficiency with Lucinda Flynn this year and is about to do some energy advice sessions in Yea. This talk is a way of sharing Lucinda's wisdom with the wider community.
“Glen knows so much about renewables in Victoria and some good ways of accessing them.”
The talks will address the easiest behaviour changes that will reduce the cost of electricity while tackling climate change and everyday shifts that can reduce our carbon footprint.
Funding for the talks has been provided through a grant from the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning Hume.
The event will be held at the Yea Wetlands Discovery Centre from 6pm for drinks and nibbles, with the talks starting at 6.30pm. Admission is $5. Both presentations will also be broadcast online for free.
