The event, which took place at Rich River Golf Club on Sunday, April 14, was jam-packed with 144 players taking to the course — the maximum number of players eligible to participate.
About $10,000 was raised on the day for pancreatic cancer research, with a quarter coming from the auction and raffle held after the golf round.
Jack Morley and Jaxson McMinn had 48 points each to take out the competition.
“The auction went very well; it raised $1875, and the raffle raised $430 towards our total,” Echuca Lions Club Golf Committee member Graeme Birch said.
“We always expect to raise roughly $8000, so to reach this number, we are very happy.”
Mr Birch and everyone at the club were thrilled with how the day turned out and said they received great feedback from the players.
“The day went very well; we had the most players we’ve ever had in the tournament and raised more than we had estimated, which we are really happy about,” Mr Birch said.
“It was a wonderful day, and the weather was beautiful, and I have received a lot of positive comments about the day from the players.
