State Member for Northern Victoria Jaclyn Symes is encouraging applications from men’s sheds to the 2024-25 Men’s Shed Funding Program.
Grants of up to $100,000 are available to build new men’s sheds — which includes converting a building into a men’s shed — and refurbish, extend or upgrade existing men’s sheds.
“Men’s sheds provide a place to learn new skills, contribute to the community and improve participants mental health and wellbeing,” Ms Symes said.
“These grants help to establish new men’s sheds, complete repairs and make improvements that ensure they are safe, remain fit for purpose and are accessible to all members.”
There are more than 350 men’s sheds across Victoria, with an estimated 20,000 engaged members.
The 2024-25 grants are part of ongoing support for men’s sheds through the Men’s Shed Funding Program.
The 2023-24 program provided grants to build a men’s shed in Benambra, replace a staircase at Badger Creek and District Men’s Shed and extend Wangaratta District Men’s Shed.
Applications for Men’s Shed Funding Program grants are open until October 16.
