Disability Sports Australia hosted 90 participants at the Seymour Sports and Aquatic Centre for the clinic on December 1.
Four sports were sampled for about 20 minutes in a fully adaptive and inclusive way.
The session included fishing, two variations of AFL and soccer.
Local sporting clubs, including Mitchell Rangers Soccer Club, helped facilitate the sessions, making the transition to a local club easier for those who enjoyed the sports.
Disability Sports Australia national program manager Kristy Rohrer said the day was about providing a fun, safe and inclusive environment for kids with disabilities to explore new sports.
“The biggest barrier for kids with disabilities, or people in general, is their self-confidence,” she said.
“They feel they can’t do things or that they will let their teammates down.
“So these days show them they can do sports like their mainstream peers and have a load of fun and get involved.”
Disability Sports Australia is a national program with 54 events across the country. This was the first session held in Seymour.
