Detour: The Seymour-Avenel Rd bridge will be closed from January 22 for about 12 months while a new bridge is built.

The Seymour-Avenel Rd bridge will be closed with a detour in place from Monday, January 22.

Inland Rail Co is building a higher bridge in the exact location to give trains more clearance.

The design includes a 35m span bridge, about 3.2m higher than the existing structure.

The detour will last for 12 months or until works are safely completed.

Vehicles will be detoured via Avenel Rd and High St during this time.

This construction is a part of the Beveridge to Albury project.
