A debutantes ball can be a very important event for a young person, traditionally, a debutante ball serves as a way to present a young woman to society, in a coming of age type of event.
The couples were joined at the Deniliquin RSL by about 300 family and friends, and presented to dignitaries.
Co-coordinator Leanne Varty said she was happy with the night overall, and particularly how the couples danced and completed their formal presentations.
“It all went superbly. It was an awesome night, and it was a credit to the kids - they absolutely nailed it,” she said.
Mrs Varty also thanked the Deni RSL events and catering staff who catered for and served 304 people in a “mammoth effort”.
“The venue was just fantastic - the set-up and the arrangements, Shannen and her team at the RSL did an impressive job.
“As well as the team from the RSL who did the set-up, there was also all the behind-the-scenes work that went on to make the night happen.”
Mrs Varty said a lot of work and practice goes into running a deb, for organisers and couples.
Dance practices started in January, and were held twice a week.
One of the highlights for the coordinators on the night was the actual presentation of the debutantes, as they came from the stage onto the dance floor of the Dunlop Room.
They were presented to special guests including Federal Senator Perin Davey and her husband John, Detective Chief Inspector Jy Brown and his wife Robyn, Deputy Mayor Kellie Crossley and RSL Club chairman Bob Crampton and his wife Alda.
