The consultation process will include pop-up sessions at local markets, online platforms for feedback submission, and an interactive project pipeline on council’s website.
These efforts will help council to ensure they are meeting the evolving needs of the community.
The draft budget and capital works program will focus on vital areas such as infrastructure, development, community services, and environmental sustainability.
The Revenue and Rating Plan aims to determine the most appropriate and affordable revenue and rating approach for council.
Some project highlights from across the proposed four-year capital works program in and around Seymour include the Seymour Community Wellbeing Hub, Seymour-Pyalong Rd and Sugarloaf Creek Rd intersection safety upgrade, the Hilldene Industrial Estate intersection, and the Seymour Raised Priority Crossing in Pollard St.
Council will host a drop-in session for residents to ask questions and provide feedback at the Seymour Rotary Market on February 16 from 9am to 1pm, as well as in other markets across the region.
Mitchell Shire Mayor Councillor John Dougall said the consultation process is an exciting opportunity for the community to directly shape the future of Mitchell Shire.
“We’re thinking big, fighting hard and delivering for our community and we want your ideas and input to help us continue to do that,” Cr Dougall said.
“We understand the importance of listening to out community, and through these consultation sessions, we aim to create a clear and transparent process.”
