Community forum to question council candidates ahead of elections

As the council elections approach, the community now has the opportunity to ask candidates their burning questions.

The Seymour We Want Committee of Management will be hosting a candidates’ forum for the North Ward of Mitchell Shire on Thursday, October 3 at the VRI Hall on Anzac Ave, Seymour.

Cr Rhonda Sanderson and Cr Fiona Stevens are both standing down after years of service to the communities in the North Ward.

Six candidates are contesting the three seats on council: Andrea Pace, Cr Bill Chisholm, Stuart Ferguson, John Dougall, Ned Jeffery and Eric Houghton.

Each candidate will speak for a few minutes and people attending will have the opportunity to ask questions.

Candidates will have the chance to tell the community why they are standing for council, including the key issues they want to see tackled, and answer questions to help voters understand their positions on important issues.

A light supper will be provided, allowing time for attendees to have further conversations with the candidates.
