Corowa Indoors Bowls Club
The Corowa Indoor Bowls Club is looking for new members to join our friendly and social games. We play on 30ft x 6ft mats, with bowls supplied by the club. Games are held every Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday afternoon from 12:30 PM in the Community Room at Club Corowa. The cost is $5 per person per session, which includes a team first prize, a raffle, and tea and coffee. Come along and enjoy a great afternoon of indoor bowls! Corowa Wrap with Love Group Corowa Resumes
Corowa’s Wrap with Love Group is back in action, having already packed 13 rugs. Volunteers are invited to help assemble squares into warm wraps, which are distributed worldwide each year. Since the early 1990s, the Corowa branch has contributed over 5,000 wraps, part of an estimated 30,000 rugs created. We meet at St Mary’s Hall on Monday mornings at 9:30am (1st, 3rd, and 4th Mondays of each month) and always welcome new members. CWA Oaklands February News
Members returned refreshed for the first branch meeting after the Christmas break, which included a delightful gathering at The Oaklands Hotel.
A heartfelt thank you to Brendan and the staff for a delicious meal, a beautifully presented venue, and outstanding service.
A special visit from Santa Claus added to the festivities as he distributed gifts to grateful hands.
The branch was pleased to support Oaklands Central School’s Presentation Night with a $70 donation—congratulations to all students on their achievements.
Much business was attended to, including well-deserved congratulations to Elizabeth Kerr and Cathie Sutcliffe for receiving Local Hero Awards at the Federation Council Australia Day celebration.
A special mention also to junior member Dayna Carter, who was awarded the Judges’ Special Award for Inspirational Young Person 2025.
The Annual Women’s Dinner at the RSL Bowling Club was a great success, with 65 guests enjoying an inspiring talk from Robin Haberecht.
She shared her journey from registered nurse to her recent appointment as Chief Executive Officer of Yarrawonga Health. Sincere thanks to everyone who contributed to making the event happen, including those who donated items for the continuous raffle, which raised $565 towards the branch’s annual expenses. Next meeting: Tuesday, 18th March at 1:30 pm in the CWA Rooms.
