In Seymour, the Lions Club of Seymour Goulburn has organised a clean-up at the Lions Park on Manners St, Seymour, at 10am.
“Our habits changed during COVID-19 and most of these haven’t been kind on the environment,” Clean Up Australia chairman Pip Kiernan said.
She said the resurgence of single-use plastics during the COVID-19 pandemic had a major effect on the environment.
“Surges in online shopping, meal delivery services and the use of disposable face masks and coffee cups mean the environment is feeling the after-effects of the pandemic in ways not seen before,” she said.
“There’s no better time than right now to show that you care.”
