The family-run company last month moved into its new premises at 99 Drummond Rd, and Richard and Lindi Renato have been excited about the change.
The couple operates the business with sons Gian and Andre, as well as six other staff to provide sales, servicing and repairs to their vehicles.
Mr Renato said his father’s career as a car salesman was the initial path that saw him build the business up and maintain that heritage link.
“I have always been in the auto trade, so I naturally just progressed towards motorcycles,” Mr Renato said.
“There are people who bought cars from my father who now buy bikes from me.
“And hopefully from my sons after me.”
Andre has just begun his apprenticeship this year, while Gian is in his final year of his, and both have aspirations to continue the family business.
CFMOTO national general manager Michael Poynton said the Shepparton dealership was the largest one of the nation’s 80 dealerships across regional Australia.
“The market has been very strong for us in the last couple of years,” Mr Poynton said.
“The quality of the product has also gone up a couple of notches, causing the confidence in the brand to grow also.”
CFMOTO has sold more than 50,000 motorcycles, ATVs and side-by-side vehicles since 2008, with a focus on rural communities.
“About 90 per cent of our business is with the farming community,” Mr Poynton said.
“The local dairy industry is large here and a dairy environment would be the toughest conditions for these vehicles.
“Being the number one choice of vehicle in an area dealing with mud and corrosion is testament to the brand.”
My Poynton said it was pleasing to see the family business go from “strength to strength”.
“You get more customer satisfaction when you are dealing with just the one brand, and it’s a brand which has a price advantage somewhere between 15 and 30 per cent lower than the competition,” he said.
“And in terms of it being a local family business, you just can’t beat building up trust over the years.
“They have so much repeat business because they know their customers.”
Mr Renato has no trouble sharing the key to their success.
“It’s all about relationships within the company, my family and of course ultimately with the customers,” he said.
