The Lemnos factory traditionally known as Campbell’s Soups has taken on 18 more seasonal staff to support the winter stock and soup making season.

Owner of the business, the Arnott’s Group, has invested $4.5 million in new machinery at the site.
The Shepparton facility needed to boost its workforce to support the upcoming winter campaign and so during October, the Talent Acquisition team held a recruitment evaluation day for more than 30 prospective seasonal employees to support the upcoming winter soup and stock campaign
Candidates cycled through three different stages throughout the recruitment day — a panel interview, reference checks and an information session covering a day in the life of a Shepparton employee.
The Campbell’s Shepparton site annually manufactures 73 million kilograms of product in 14 different production lines, including soup, stocks and juice.
Some lines operate 24 hours a day, five days a week during the season, employing more than 160 full-time and casual employees.
In a year they produce 24 million cans of soup for the domestic market.
The number one best seller in Australia is Campbell’s Country Ladle Creamy Chicken.
The peak of the soup making season occurs between November and May.

Plant manager Talitha Johnston, who has worked with the company for two-and-a-half years, said the latest $4.5 million investment in the Campbell’s Shepparton site shows how much they cared about the region.
“It’s great news for the local community and highlights Shepparton’s key role in Australia’s food industry,” Ms Johnston said.
“We took a unique approach to hiring this season, welcoming a large cohort of applicants into the site.
“It’s not every day you come in for a seasonal job interview and get to hear directly from the plant manager about their experiences and the importance of the work that’s undertaken at the factory.”
Annually, the Shepparton site will spend $83 million on ingredients, packaging and logistics procured within Australia.
The Campbell’s Shepparton factory was built in 1962.
