Council said it played a vital role in preparing the community for fire season through its bushfire works mitigation program, which included roadside slashing and fuel management.
Council chief executive Pauline Gordon said landowners were also encouraged to reduce fuel loads around their properties by regularly disposing of green waste.
Education is part of the council’s role, Ms Gordon said, reminding residents of the council’s recently launched First 72 Hours program.
“I strongly encourage the community to visit our service centres or website to obtain a copy of the First 72 Hours brochure and plan,” she said.
“We want to make sure our community is informed, prepared and resilient.”
The program prompts landowners to create an emergency plan for their home or business in the event emergency services are unable to attend in a disaster.
The fire danger period will start in Campaspe at 1am on Monday, November 4, and finish at 1am on May 1, 2025, unless varied by a subsequent declaration.
Certain restrictions on the lighting of fires are in force during the period.
