Those are the best words to describe the Cobram Anglican Grammar School final Year 12 assembly on Wednesday, October 18.
The day began with the students, who slept over at the school, enjoying breakfast before having fun and games with the younger year levels.
The students had chosen the theme of ‘cops and criminals’ and dressed up accordingly before being presented to the whole school at the assembly via a mock show trial.
The assembly was attended by staff, students and proud family members.
Stacey Orsida supported her daughter Emily on her big day and couldn’t be prouder.
“I’m excited for her that she’s come to the end of her schooling days,” she said.
“Emily has always shown determination that she wanted to do well in school. She’s always just been that achiever.”
The students, some tearful and all joyful, thanked staff with presents before a video was shown of the graduates throughout the year.
Principal Keith Willett was full of praise for the Year 12 students and said the bonds that the graduating students and teachers had formed over the years were something that the school took pride in.
“The most significant thing schools have is good relationships,” Mr Willett said.
“If we have good relationships and work hard together to achieve things, the rest just happens ... Relationships are the most significant thing you (schools) can have.”
Talking after the ceremony, Year 12 student Cadence Pang said she was glad that after 13 years of schooling, the end of the road was in sight.
Her comments were echoed by fellow Year 12 Harrison Brooker, who said it was a wonderful experience to see the school and his fellow students grow over the years.
Harrison was also full of praise for the staff, who he said made his schooling a fulfilling experience.
“Huge thanks,” he said.
“To every teacher in the school, our support staff, admin staff, teachers, it’s because of them the school runs, and because of them that I’ve been able to do the great things I’ve done this year and throughout my schooling.”
The Courier congratulates the Year 12 students on their achievements and wishes them all the best in the coming years.
