And with this weekend expected to be hot, firefighters have warned of a greater threat of fires.
It comes after a number of blazes this week.
About 6pm Monday, Deniliquin’s NSW Fire + Rescue brigade was called to a grass fire in St Michael St.
Two trucks arrived on scene to find the small grass fire at the river’s edge.
It was extinguished shortly after, with firefighters standing down about 6.30pm.
The following day, Deniliquin Fire + Rescue received reports of a house fire in Charlotte St.
Two trucks arrived on scene at 10.55pm and were told by occupants they could smell smoke.
Firefighters spent half an hour at the property but could find no fire. They carried out thermal and roof checks and confirmed there was no active fire, before leaving at 11.30pm.
Also on Tuesday, firefighters from the Mid Murray Rural Fire Service were called to a blaze on Pretty Pine Rd, Morago at 10.15am.
The fire burned about 15ha before being brought under control. Because of conditions predicted, careful monitoring of re-ignition will continue.
