The highly anticipated 'Border Trust Big Give Grant Showcase' marked a night of extraordinary generosity, awarding over $846,000 in community grants to support 40 initiatives across the local government areas of Albury, Wodonga, Indigo Shire, Federation, Towong, and Greater Hume Shire.

The award ceremony, held at the Atura Albury Hotel on June 27, unveiled recipients dedicated to enhancing community equity, connection, and wellbeing throughout the region.
Notable projects included the Corowa and District SHE Shed Inc.'s 'Expand and Enjoy' initiative, which received $4,597, and the Wahgunyah Football Club Inc.'s 'Wahgunyah Football and Netball Indigenous Round' project, awarded $4,000.

The SHE Shed, grappling with overcrowding due to increased membership, will use the grant to expand its premises by 54 square meters, improving safety and accessibility with additional workbenches and a new internal dividing wall.
The Wahgunyah Football Netball Club, renowned for fostering a culturally inclusive environment, received $4,000 to support various cultural activities during their Indigenous round on July 6. Activities featured included a 'Minute of Silence' honouring Aboriginal history, a Yorta-Yorta 'Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony,' cultural dances, local Indigenous musicians, and Indigenous-designed merchandise.
The Border Trust’s Executive Officer, Ms Sue Gold, praised the dedication and creativity of local non-profit organisations and expressed gratitude to donors whose generosity continues to shape a brighter future for the region.
