Queensland police claim the men aged in their 30s participated in abducting three people south of Brisbane earlier in January and torturing them for hours on end.
Police arrested Coen James Keneally, 32, on Thursday in his home suburb of Griffin, north of Brisbane and charged him with the murder of 52-year-old Van Dam Nguyen.
Mr Nguyen died in a specialist care ward of Brisbane's Princess Alexandra Hospital on January 7 after police said he was admitted the previous day with "significant head injuries".
Keneally was not required to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court when his seven charges involving two alleged victims, including Mr Nguyen, were first mentioned on Thursday.
Co-accused Samuel David Vernon, 31, of Birkdale, faced the same court on Saturday on charges related to the same alleged incident.
Police allege Mr Nguyen and two friends met Vernon in Inala, an outer suburb of Brisbane, on January 5 and were kidnapped with the "significant threat of violence".
The trio were taken to a different location where they were allegedly tortured over several hours before being taken back to their car.
Apart from Nguyen, one of the other men allegedly suffered cuts, bruises and a broken leg, and the other had serious facial injuries.
During a brief mention of the charges on Thursday, Keneally's solicitor Corey Cullen asked Magistrate Donald McKenzie to adjourn the matter to a later date.
Police prosecutor Jordan Theed said Keneally was a co-accused on all charges with Vernon, who was due to face Richlands Magistrates Court next week.
"It might be prudent to send it there so they can marry up," Mr Theed said.
Mr Cullen did not object and Mr McKenzie ordered the charges face a committal mention at Richlands on January 21.
Keneally, originally from Brisbane and whose occupation was listed in court documents as business owner, was remanded in custody.
Defendants charged with murder in Queensland can only apply for bail in the Supreme Court.
As well as murder, Keneally was also charged with kidnapping Mr Nguyen and another man and then torturing them at a commercial property on a 1.6 acre lot in an industrial zone at Wacol in Brisbane's southwest.
Police executed a search warrant at the property on January 12 and are still examining the scene for forensic evidence.
Keneally was also charged with committing grievous bodily harm against the second alleged victim and using a firearm in an armed robbery targeting Mr Nguyen.
Police allege the attack was a planned and co-ordinated effort to extort the victims.
"We don't for one second think this was a random event that occurred," Detective Inspector Chris Knight said previously.
