With a focus on physical activity, hands-on learning, and student voice, this year's theme, Active Learners: Move, Make, Motivate, perfectly aligns with the school's vision of education.
The college's primary co-ordinator Lynda Harland is excited about the week’s opportunities.
“Education Week is an annual celebration of education in Victoria,” she said.
This year it will be celebrated from Sunday, May 14 to Saturday, May 20.
Mrs Harland is particularly thrilled about the celebration of technology this year.
“The kids are creating something within the technology range they’re exploring,” she said.
“What we've found is that the students in Grade 6 right now, missed out on so many technology opportunities that weren't there when they were in Prep."
With a range of tools at their disposal, including Beebots, VEX 123, VEX GO, Lego WeDo, Spike, Canva, Adobe, Sway, and tablets, the students at Shepparton Christian College are sure to create something innovative and exciting.
The Year 6 students will visit the Prep classrooms to see what the younger students are working on, and the preps will have the chance to walk through the classrooms of Years 4, 5, and 6 to see what the older students are creating.
For Mrs Harland, Education Week is a time to celebrate how education has changed over the years.
“Education Week means the celebration of how education has changed from the past and how we’re changing into the future, and allowing kids to focus on the changes,” she said.
