The town has recently opened its Heritage Village to the public, which showcases a wealth of objects and buildings with significant historical value to the area.

Spearheaded by the Moulamein Community Development Inc, this project has been years in the making, and with the help of the Federal Government's Drought Communities Program, the Heritage Village is now a reality.

Visitors to the Heritage Village can explore the information centre housed in the old Dhuragoon School building and learn about the region’s rich agricultural history, including its iconic wool industry.

The village also boasts a shearing shed relocation and rebuild, the construction of a new amenities block, and the relocation of the old school.

The Heritage Village was officially opened by Federal Member for Farrer Sussan Ley, who joined the community at the ribbon-cutting ceremony and afternoon tea in the new Jeraly Shed.

Murray River councillor Neil Gorey also attended the opening and said the Heritage Village would be a “living breathing experience” for tourists, school children, and residents alike, with the ability to offer educational programs and heritage preservation experiences.
