Tatura Primary School celebrated its 150th birthday, drawing over 1000 attendees for a day filled with festivities, memories, and community spirit.

More than 1000 people walked through the main gates of Tatura Primary School on Saturday, October 26 for the school’s 150th birthday celebrations.
The market and historical event drew big crowds from all over the region, along with past and present students, staff and principals all in attendance.
Current school principal Susanne Gill said it was a wonderful day, and the school committee who planned and organised the celebrations should be commended for their incredible efforts.
“The committee did a wonderful job,” Susanne said.
“The whole day was incredible, and it was absolutely mind-blowing to see so many people enjoying it.
“It was great to see all the past students, staff, principals, and just hear everyone laughing and talking about all the history of our amazing school.”
The day included cultural dancers, live entertainment, performances by the school choir and band, ice-cream trucks, coffee vans, and stalls run by present students featuring old-fashioned guessing games for prizes and lucky dips.
There was a major raffle, show bags for kids, and nine food trucks offering a delicious array of foods, along with face painting and reptile encounters — plenty for everyone to find something to enjoy.
“There was just so much for people to do and see,” Susanne said.
“One of my favourite things was how people could leave a written memory about their time at the school; there were some great responses to that.
“It was beautiful, sunny and warm weather, and we planted a lovely tree to commemorate the celebrations.
“Thank you to our amazing committee for planning such a wonderful day that will be remembered by so many and thank you to all the people who came along and enjoyed it too.”
There was something for everyone at Tatura Primary Schools 150th birthday market event.
The school band and choir both performed throughout the day setting the tune for the celebrations.
