Echuca Moama and District Agricultural Show Society president Allen Mathers thinks there is something for everyone at the show.
“This is the first show since 2019, where we will have a complete show because the one we had last year didn’t have dairy cattle or anything like that due to the floods,” Allen said.
“It’s pretty good in the horse arenas, with horses there for two days.
“The sheep, dairy and beef cattle are split over two days, with poultry on Sunday.
“The ute show is on, with a show ’n shine on Saturday and classic cars on Sunday.
“We get good displays in the pavilion, everything from cookery, horticulture, knitting, sewing and photography is really big.
“Being a showmen’s guild show, we rely on the rides coming to see what’s on.
“We are encouraging people to go into the junior ambassadors and rural ambassadors competitions.”
The Echuca Moama Agricultural Show is working with schools and children to produce posters which will be displayed in the home field pavilion, alongside the arts and crafts.
This year there will be a big scarecrow competition for the whole family and a Battle of the Bands for the older kids.
For the farmers among us, there will be an on-farm challenge for teams of four where you will have to work out things like the gestation period of cattle, horses, sheep, be able to pack eggs, flip a tractor tyre and back a trailer.
The committee is in the throes of organising a dog high jump for Saturday afternoon.
Fireworks will be from dusk on Saturday night.
“We get pony rides and a petting zoo in, we pay for that, so mum and dad, once they are through the gate, they can get a lot of free activities for their children,” Allen said.
“The main thing is to put something on for everyone.”
The Echuca Moama Agricultural Show will be held at Campaspe Park Raceway on Saturday, November 11 and Sunday, November 12.
