A Shepparton-based jazz group is ready to fill the Aussie with brass, drum fills and familiar melodies.
The Shepparton Jazz Orchestra is set for another performance next month, ready to wow the local audience.
Shepparton Jazz Orchestra lead alto saxophonist and administrator Brian Matthews said the band existed due to its members’ love of music.
“We all just love this style of music and we wanted to start a group with quality musicians in the area,” Mr Matthews said.
“It gives us a chance to play the big band music we love to hear and to introduce it to a younger audience.
“It’s a unique style of music for the area.”
The band is booked to perform at the Aussie Hotel in Shepparton on Sunday, October 1.
The performance starts at 2.30pm and is expected to finish around 5pm.
The band will play contemporary, swing, soul and classic big band music.
Admission is free, and families are welcome to come along. The bar will be open, and food will be available to purchase.
