Around Town | FAFA’s frosty and fun Mt Buller adventure

FAFA’s first batch takes on the snow on Saturday, July 27. Photo by Contributed

Under the leadership of a new Filipino Australian and Friends Association president, Cathy Javier and her team organised two exhilarating snow trips to Mt Buller.

The first adventure took place on Saturday, July 27 and the second on Saturday, August 17. Both trips were a tremendous success.

Participants took great pleasure in the snow activities, enjoying thrilling toboggan rides, scenic lift rides and a bit of skiing. We made delightful stops at Lake Nillahcootie for morning tea and sold raffle tickets on the way to Mt Buller.

Raffle winners were drawn on our return journey, with another stop at the Benalla Rose Garden for afternoon tea. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who bought raffle tickets, joined us on these snowy adventures and generously donated goods. Congratulations to all our raffle winners!

The trips were filled with adventure, camaraderie and lots of laughter. It was wonderful to see everyone’s joyful faces and hear their positive feedback — a special thanks to our professional driver for safely navigating the wet and slippery conditions. The snow trips wouldn’t have been complete without countless selfies and shared laughter.

We’re grateful to all who joined us and contributed to the success of these trips. We look forward to another exciting snow adventure next year.
